Pastor Debra Mulder
Pastor Debra has served as Lead Pastor at Holt Church of the Nazarene since June 2007. She is known as a powerful and caring woman of God who is determined to represent Christ and glorify God in every area of her life. Her friends describe her as hard working, compassionate, caring, passionate about prayer, the Word and driven to see people come to know Jesus and grow in their love and knowledge of Him. Two of her favorite verses are Romans 5:5 “We know how dearly God loves us because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love,” and John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free you are truly free.”
She is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. Leaving the accounting field in 1988 to stay home with her children, she began sensing a call from God in 1992 to full time ministry. She then began the journey of preparation for ministry through the Michigan District Studies and Credentials Boards, and upon completing the educational and service requirements, she was ordained in 2005. Pastor Debra served as Associate Pastor to Families with Children at Battle Creek First Church of the Nazarene from 2001 to 2007, when she received a call to Holt Naz. She has also served in a volunteer capacity at Kalamazoo First Church of the Nazarene from 1992 to 2001, ministered in children’s evangelism, served as treasurer for Good News Train, served as secretary of the Michigan District Sunday School and discipleship Ministries Board, taught workshops on discipleship and family ministry, and served on the Michigan District Studies Board. She is actively involved in the community as a member of Kiwanis, at the Holt Food Bank, and in other community activities such as National Night Out, Community Easter Egg Hunt and more.
Pastor Debra enjoys spending time with family and friends and serving her community. She is a widow, the mother of three grown children all serving the Lord in ministry, and she has three grandsons whom she enjoys playing cars and building Legos with. She also enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and walking her dog Brie.
